Gibbs Characterization of Ternary Bent Functions

In this chapter, the Gibbs characterization of binary bent functions is extended to ternary functions. Due to the differences between binary and ternary bent functions, a straightforward extension is impossible, and not all ternary bent functions can be conveniently characterized in terms of the Gibbs derivatives; still some interesting conclusions can be derived.
