Linear Sheared Flow Effects in Vortex-Induced Forces on Three Tandem Subsea Structures in Proximity to Larger Objects

摘要

Flow around three identical circular cylinders in statics under the impact of vortex-induced forces in close proximity to subsea equipment is modeled in this work using computational fluid dynamics in a critical flow regime of Reynolds number 2.5 × 105. The effect of shear flow parameter K on the hydrodynamic coefficients and vortex formation pattern was investigated. The flow parameter K was varied from 0.01 to 0.09. Simulation results include time histories of hydrodynamic coefficients, fast Fourier transform (FFT) data, pressure distribution, and velocity fields, accompanied by sensitivity analysis of the shear parameter the shear parameter of the flow profile.
