Ranking of Success Forecasts for Computer Engineering Students Based on Computing with Words

In the field of the teaching-learning process, multiple attempts are made to obtain an integral evaluation of the student, which includes his academic situation, as well as other factors that contribute to have a more complete idea of the student's performance and his prospects for professional success. In the present work, a way of measuring performance and prospects of success is approached, by means of the 2-tuple linguistic model for computing with words, which integrates the academic performance in a given period with their subjects and can build a ranking of the students of a given group, taking into account the importance of each subject in an initial period of the training of the specific computing professional, as well as a criterion that includes the contribution of these subjects to the development of the students’ creative thinking. For this purpose, surveys were used, the results of which were used to construct a parallel weighting of subjects by means of the aforementioned indicators. With the results of the evaluation given to each of the students in a group, and the integrated weights of the subjects, an integral evaluation of each student and a ranking of performance and prospects for professional success was obtained, which was processed with the help of the FLINTSTONES software.
