Artificial Intelligence Contribution to the Development of Cuban Port Logistics Chains

The technological development of logistics chains is one of the most essential aspects of modern business. This is based on the fact that they help improve resource management and minimize delivery times, errors and storage costs, among other aspects. All this justifies the use of artificial intelligence techniques in logistics and transport to achieve efficiency in these logistics processes. Currently, in the port logistics chains that operate through Cuban ports, efficiency is not achieved since there are delays in deliveries to final customers and high logistics costs, mainly due to the non-inclusion of the resources needed to stabilize the operation of these chains. This research is considered a contribution to the development of these port logistics chains, since it is possible to predict the necessary resources for their stable operation. For this, simulation is used as a technique that allows for the rational use of resources in the different logistics processes of these chains. The main result shows the different application scenarios of the designed simulation model that allow establishing the resource needs of the different members of the studied chain. One application is shown in the grain logistic chain, specifically the rice one at the Cienfuegos port.
