摘要

This chapter presents a brief discussion of fuzzy optimization and “normative” mathematical analysis. By normative we mean that one imposes onto a mathematical model a criterion (or criteria) that leads, that is, directs the model toward a “best” as measured by the normative criterion. Thus, fuzzy optimization is seen as a natural modeling method that is especially applicable where models are still being delineated which is in keeping with Herbert Simon’s observation that is cited at the beginning of the chapter. This is the case of called green economic, relationships and normative criteria are still being developed. An application to carbon markets is presented.
