Analysis of Queuing Systems under N Policy with Different Server Activation Strategies
摘要
In this paper, we consider single server queuing systems under N policy with different activation strategies for the server. Customers arrive according to a Markovian Arrival Process and the service time follows a phase type distribution. The activation time of the server is exponentially distributed. We obtain stationary distribution of the queuing process using the Matrix Geometric Method. Using these distribution we calculate performance measures of the system. We analyse these models with numerical examples in order to have a comparison of the performance measures associated with it. A cost function is developed for each model and the optimum value of N is investigated numerically. Finally, a comparison study between the models is presented.
