摘要

Bone marrow has progenitor cells for both Hematopoietic and mesenchymal tissues. Bone marrow was used for decades for its healing properties on the musculoskeletal tissue, this healing done by mesenchymal stem cells. There are studies showing that progenitor cells in bone marrow of pelvis even in old age. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells are easier to harvest and clinically used with little to no manipulation. Several studies have shown that it is safe to use bone marrow concentrates. There is overwhelming evidence showing treatments of several musculoskeletal disorders like knee osteoarthritis, osteonecrosis, ligament and tendon tears and lumbar degenerative disc disease can be treated with bone marrow concentrate (BMC) regenerating tissue, controlling pain and improving function. Bone marrow aspirates (BMA) is not considered an human cell, tissue, and cell-tissue products (HCT/Ps) so long as it is minimally manipulated and used in a homologous fashion to its original biological function. BMC is homologous and minimally manipulated and thus is United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliant to treat spine and joint arthritis.
