Platelet-Rich Plasma
摘要
Musculoskeletal pain management is evolving rapidly alongside evidence for use of autologous orthobiologics. Interventionalists have the skillsets to precisely deliver platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow concentrate (BMC), and adipose tissue concentrate (ATC) with image-guided injections. These treatments are potential catalysts in plans designed to aid tissue repair, decrease pain, and improve function. Slight variations in preparation can lead to vastly different PRP formulations, but the lack of standard preparation protocols continues to be an area of concern. In this chapter, we will review PRP anatomy and physiology, and compare various bioformulations and their use for various clinical indications. The goals are to establish a clear understanding of the various PRP products and preparations so readers can confidently critique published research and apply this knowledge to appropriately use PRP in the clinical setting.
