Regenerative medicine is a groundbreaking field that holds immense potential for transforming healthcare. It presents a promising approach to address the challenges associated with damaged tissues and organs by harnessing the body’s own repair mechanisms. By doing so, regenerative medicine offers the possibility of functionally healing tissues and organs that were previously considered irreparable. However, this revolutionary concept has faced skepticism and encountered restrictions from various stakeholders within the healthcare industry. Nonetheless, there is a growing body of emerging evidence that highlights the potential of regenerative medicine and warrants attention from the healthcare community. Particularly in the fields of orthopedics, musculoskeletal conditions, and spine conditions, biologics have shown promising results and merit further investigation. Biologics refers to substances derived from living organisms, such as stem cells, growth factors, or proteins, which can be used to stimulate tissue regeneration and repair. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the historical development of regenerative medicine, the current landscape of biologics, and offers insights into the future outlook of this rapidly advancing field. By summarizing the existing knowledge and research, it aims to foster a better understanding of the potential of biologics as a transformative approach to healing and restoration.
