摘要

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic’s global upheaval, educational entities transitioned from in-person to remote learning to mitigate virus spread. This unexpected transition reshaped education, prompting the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) to adopt online teaching approaches. This study investigated the use of information and communication technology (ICT) by pre-service preschool teachers at a university in crafting a blog to enlighten preschoolers and parents on pandemic-related matters. The research analysed the blog design involving 48 pre-service teachers from the preschool education programme over 2019–2020 and 2020–2021. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, we gathered data from various sources, including video recordings of the course, teacher-created blogs, and interviews. The blog creation encompassed content choice, digital conversion, blog publishing, and content promotion. While initial ICT utilization posed challenges, the pre-service teachers showed notable improvement. Interviews highlighted enhanced ICT appreciation and understanding due to diverse tools used during blog development, emphasizing ICT’s pivotal role in modern teacher training and its significance during crises like COVID-19.
