Traumatic Brain Injury in Pregnancy
摘要
Traumatic brain injury may cause significant morbidity and mortality in the pregnant trauma patient. Although there are minor differences, the treatment principles should be similar to those of the non-pregnant patient. Initial resuscitation should focus on maternal stability, as efforts to save the mother will simultaneously help save the baby. Avoiding secondary injury is crucial, hypoxia and hypotension should be avoided at all costs. A multidisciplinary approach to both the initial management and the ethical considerations regarding end-of-life care should be pursued.
