Infection Management in the Neurocritical Care Setting
摘要
Central nervous system infections are frequently seen in patients with penetrating head trauma or neurosurgical procedures or instrumentation. Meningitis, encephalitis, ventriculitis, brain abscess, and subdural empyema are usually treated in the intensive care unit setting due to high risk for morbidity and mortality. This chapter covers general principles in the presentation, diagnosis, and management of these infections.
