Benign Salivary Gland Neoplasms

  • Kevin C. Lee

摘要

Benign salivary gland neoplasms are uncommon; however, providers treating conditions of the head, neck, and oral cavity are almost guaranteed to encounter these lesions in clinical practice. Benign salivary tumors all harbor a similar prototypical appearance depending on their location. Given their rarity and nondescript presentation, the difficulty with salivary tumors lies in the diagnosis which often requires a healthy level of clinical suspicion. The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of benign salivary tumors.
