Supportive Care and Management of Inhospital Complications
摘要
Acute ischemic strokes are often related to underlying medical diseases. The primary goal of hospitalization is to treat the acute stroke when possible, prevent secondary injury by anticipating and addressing complications of stroke, identify the etiology of the stroke, and develop a treatment strategy to prevent future strokes. The medical management of patients with an acute cerebrovascular event becomes more complex when each of these issues is considered, and the balance of risks and benefits must be assessed with each treatment decision, recognizing complications early, and initiating timely preventative strategies.
