Pediatric Arterial Ischemic Stroke

The availability of high-quality evidence for the treatment of ischemic stroke has revolutionized stroke management through comprehensive guidelines for pre-hospital care, emergent treatment with intravenous and endovascular therapies, secondary stroke prevention strategies and rehabilitation after stroke in adults. Although similar evidence does not exist for childhood stroke, children will also benefit from an organized approach to care based on extrapolation from adult stroke trials and pediatric critical care experience, expert consensus and emerging pediatric studies.
