Innovative Design for an Energy-Efficient Home
摘要
The world has recently been affected by many challenges that put direct pressure on many areas of life, the most important of which is the field of energy, and in light of the many difficulties represented by climate change and economic stagnation, the importance of using clean energy to try to reduce environmental pollution and find a solution to the crises of traditional energy depletion has emerged. As buildings are one of the most energy-consuming areas, the architect must find innovative solutions to harness clean energy in buildings not only to save energy but also to make buildings more sustainable where the study discusses the methods of designing a residential building in a hot dry climate and deals with the methods of design and implementation, especially in choosing the thickness of the external walls of the building and the diversity and flexibility of the materials used in the construction, especially sustainable materials and recyclable materials by testing some sustainable materials, which are sandbags and tiles made of recycled plastic and agricultural waste such as rice straw. Simulation experiments will be conducted on them to find out which ones are most efficient in terms of thermal comfort. To make the building a producer of energy and not a consumer of it, the study also deals with the development of the use of clean energy, especially solar energy, as it is one of the most growing types of clean energy in the Middle East due to the quality of radiation and the appropriate climate. The study measures the ability to control the design and formation of solar cells and how to place them on the building in innovative design ways so that they are integrated with the shape of the building and are not added to it. The study also discusses ways to increase the efficiency of the building and its ability to save energy in terms of using sustainable building materials for external walls and exploiting the possibility of producing clean energy from the various aspects of the building as well as choosing the best integrated design of solar cells to produce clean energy throughout the year, in order to produce a high-efficiency and sustainable building.
