Posterior Maxillary Segment Osteotomy: PMSO – Rules, Tricks and Complications

  • Peter Kessler,

摘要

The close positional relationship of teeth and tooth roots to the osteotomy lines and unavoidable opening of the maxillary sinus as well as the proximity to relevant blood vessels dorso-cranial to the maxilla in the region of the pterygoid make PMSO a procedure in which anatomical landmarks are important and must be observed. The possibilities of correction are limited and mostly relate to vertical position correction—impaction.
