How the History of Thermodynamics Informs the Hidden Variables Debate in Quantum Mechanics
摘要
The main purpose of this paper is to inform all those interested in quantum foundations about several very striking historical parallels between modern quantum theory and thermodynamics in the 1800s. These parallels deserve to be more widely known as they comment on the status of the hidden variable debate. Some general observations about science and some reasons to believe in deterministic hidden variables are also given.
