摘要

The coastline of the Gulf of Mexico is exposed to extreme wave conditions that lead to the deterioration of the cost, affecting the communities and the industries that settle there. This paper presents the study of a floating breakwater designed for the conditions of the Gulf of Mexico, specifically for the state of Tabasco. Floating breakwaters (FWB) play a crucial role in mitigating wave energy, reducing sediment transport, and stabilizing coastlines against erosion. These models are evaluated by means of the OPENFOAM software, providing the movements of the structure in free floating, without mooring systems. The results of the wave transmission coefficient derived from the performance evaluation of the three designed shapes (BM, CH, CHL) are presented and compared.
