Operation and Maintenance of Floating Offshore Wind Farms. Classification Society Vision

A proper strategy for the operation and maintenance of a wind farm is key from the point of view of project feasibility. Bearing this in mind, Bureau Veritas (BV) is developing a specific strategy based and managed on a digital platform, including risk-based inspection programs (RBI) and Structural Health Monitoring System (SHM) that, together with the implementation of different innovative inspection techniques such as Remote Inspections (RIT) and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), will allow an accurate control of the asset and optimization of operation and maintenance strategy, ensuring its structural integrity. This paper will detail the main advantages due to implementation of these techniques, inspection and maintenance programs for offshore wind farms, showing the latest techniques and improving as much as possible the efficiency of the asset.
