Adaptability of the Ship Design Process According with the Evolution of Technological Tools to Facilitate the Integration Processes Between Ship Design and Shipbuilding Activities

  • Carlos Andrés Delgado-Agudelo

摘要

Ship design has a long history in terms of the methodological approach to attend the process. In the past, ship design was conceived as an activity that start from the idea of one person, based on his knowledge and experience; in other cases, it was the result of taking an existing ship model as pattern ship, which had been tested in its performance, to carry out a process of modification or alteration in order to obtain a new design. Through the time, ships have become significantly more complex, and nowadays, the design of a ship or a floating structure demands a process with a high level of integration, due to the number of stakeholders involved and the diversity of technological tools.
