The Ship Model Basin, a Key Point in Hydrodynamics
摘要
This paper aims to show that a classical ship model basin is more than a link in the chain of ship hull optimization. Three examples point out the relevance of this tool in hydrodynamics. The study of the behavior of the “booster” in the ARIANE rocket, the interaction on a stern interceptor in a ship, and the validation of numerical calculations are the actions selected to demonstrate the importance of this facility in the hydrodynamic world.
