Modulation of Water Jets by Detonation of Shaped Charges, for Penetration of Metallic Structures
摘要
Specific processing of hardly accessible metallic structures can be performed by a proper engineering of fluid jets, e.g. water based, via explosive detonation. Optimization of water jets with respect to shape and velocity is directly related to the initial geometry of the explosive charge and its surrounding configuration and can be done by numerical simulations via dedicated software, like Ansys Autodyn, Ansys Fluent or LS-Dyna. This work reports on a set of the above mentioned numerical simulations, using Ansys Autodyn, underlying the correlations between different physical parameters of optimized water jets generated by detonations, as well as on their impact on metallic targets. The optimization of explosive charges-water systems was discussed in relation to some envisaged final application, by correlating the impact effects with specific parameters of the water jets.
