Resource Scarcity
摘要
The old, industrialized economies are experiencing low or no BNP growth. The markets are already experiencing a scarcity of resources, and the fight for resources has begun. Europe and North America are challenged to secure the living standards of their people, due to inflation, fluctuating employment rates, and dependencies on global product value chains. Europe and the USA are main importers of goods from Asia with China and India being the main exporters of products. This chapter descibes the perspectives of industrialisation, urban development, now and in a histortic perspective. The chapter illustrates the need for at transition to a Circular Economy to restore our economies and to become independent of constantly havesting from virgin resources to be able to provide for the growing population and to be able to regenerate nature and regional economies.
