The world is facing societal and environmental challenges because, for instance, achieving net-zero emissions and the recovery process of the planet requires a global collaboration between governments and the private sector. The UN highlighted the importance of corporate engagement in this process and proposed the 2030 agenda as a key step in the correct direction. Operating as a business involves being part of a global community and accepting several obligations and responsibilities. Collaborations between organisations, governments and climate policymakers are mutually beneficial relationships, but they require both vision and long-term dedication from all parties (UN Global Compact, 2022).
