Decentralized Identity Management Using Blockchain Technology: Challenges and Solutions

Blockchain technology could help businesses improve their operations and increase their profits. Nevertheless, in this age of decentralized protocols, the difficulties associated with blockchain deployment demand a methodical approach. In today’s digital age, decentralized identity management has the potential to improve user privacy, data ownership, and data security. Blockchain technology, which is decentralized, transparent, and unchangeable, is an appropriate choice for such a system. This article explores the challenges of and potential solutions from blockchain-based decentralized identity management. Scalability, privacy, interoperability, user uptake, and regulatory compliance are some of the issues that are being addressed. In addition, cross-chain communication, user-centric interfaces, user-off-chain storage, zero-knowledge proofs, and coordination among regulatory bodies are covered in this study. The chapter also includes an analysis of existing implementations and case studies in order to evaluate the applicability of blockchain-based decentralized identity management systems on individuals, companies, and governments and to determine the potential impacts that such systems may have. This article discusses challenges that must be overcome and suggests potential solutions to make digital identity management systems safer, more respectful of users’ privacy, and more user focused. Blockchain projects cannot succeed without a robust ecosystem that includes users, developers, and partners. Companies can take the lead if they can overcome these hurdles and effectively use blockchain. The most progress has been made with blockchain.
