Personality Traits Influence On Mentoring Relationships: An Application Of Big Five Personality Model Among Indian IT Professionals

摘要

The Indian IT industry has gained an iconic status in the Indian economy and is considered a highly noteworthy economic growth engine in India's success. The objective of this research is to find out the relationships between personality and mentoring functions received. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey-based research design and data has collected from 390 employees from the IT Sector. The regression analysis exposed the effect of personality dimensions like openness to experience and neuroticism on career mentoring, the analysis also revealed like personality dimensions openness to experience, extraversion, and conscientiousness are significant predictors of psychosocial mentoring. It was found from the regression analysis that openness to experience, conscientiousness, and agreeableness are significant predictors of role modeling function.
