摘要

This study uses a bibliometric analysis to present the features and development of urban poverty publications in Malaysia. We used all Scopus and WOS documents spanning the years 1982 to 2023. The findings show that research on urban poverty has increased in Malaysia, particularly following the pandemic Covid 19. The analysis also exposes the most-cited authors and papers, as well as the most-discussed topics in this research field, emphasizing the current trend toward sustainability and resilience. Specific research themes and conceptual approaches are also provided as possible areas of study. This analysis has direct implications for the positioning of future academic research. Bibliometric studies have significant implications for universities and policymakers because of the growing significance of assessing scientific production.
