Bridging Communities in Brazil
摘要
Digital news in Brazil was established early on in comparison to other South American countries. Considering that Brazil was a laggard in terms of internet accessibility, that is no small feat. Both digital journalism and digital-native news have offered considerable innovation and disruption to journalism in terms of how news is produced and in terms of how it is consumed. This chapter introduces the emergence of digital-native news organizations in Brazil and the context in which it emerges. It highlights the relevance of these organizations identifying as independent news under the Brazilian media system.
