Emergence and Spread of Resistant Microorganisms, Related to Travel
摘要
Antimicrobial-resistant microorganisms do not recognise international borders. We acquire bacteria with antimicrobial resistance so easily that it makes this the most prevalent “souvenir” in modern travel. Any kind of travel will contribute to this spread, whether it is because of tourism, business or migration. Travellers will become colonised with the bacterial flora prevalent in the area where they travel which upon returning to their home country can be disseminated.
