Robotic Small Bowel Ureter Substitution

Ureteral substitution by small bowel, usually ileum, has long become a widely used procedure to treat long or multiple ureteral strictures. Its feasibility and long-term outcomes have been proven for the open and laparoscopic approach. Obstacles to the robotic implementation of the procedure were the large surgical field and complexity of the technique. It has meanwhile been demonstrated that this procedure can be performed in a safe and timely manner.
