Cancer prostate is the most commonly diagnosed cancer as well as the second most common cause of death in the United States of America. In 2009, as many 192,280 (25%) men were estimated as new diagnosis with prostate cancer (Jemal et al., CA Cancer J Clin 60(5):277–300, 2010). Of the several treatment options available, surgery is the gold standard and offers potential for long-term cure (Bil-Axelson et al., N Eng J Med 352(19):1977, 2005).
