摘要

Efficient condition monitoring is essential for reliable wind energy from turbines. Asymmetricity in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators (PMSGs), stemming from various factors like rotor core, stator core and air gap, is often related to imbalances, affecting efficiency and performance due to uneven design or operation, causing fluctuations in voltage and mechanical stress. It is obvious that different reasons for asymmetricity have different sign in (PMSGs), outputs. This asymmetrical air gap in (PMSGs) is closely connected to the concept of eccentricity. Eccentricity refers to the misalignment or non-uniformity in the center of rotation of the rotor concerning the center of the stator. The study focuses on detecting eccentricity in PMSGs. Investigation of stator current is employed to effectively identify eccentricity in faulty PMSGs. The index is based on analysis. The research investigates the amplitude of sideband components exhibiting a specific frequency pattern extracted from the stator current spectrum. Additionally, it investigates the stator current spectrum of faulty PMSGs during different wind speed and real-world operation to showcase the proposed index’s efficiency in identifying eccentricity faults. The comparative analysis of the results supports the effectiveness of the introduced index in detecting eccentricity faults in PMSGs, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of wind turbine performance and reliability. These findings demonstrate the practical potential of the proposed fault diagnosis approach for real-world wind energy applications.
