摘要

The risk of developing colorectal cancer is greatly reduced by dietary polyphenols and bioactive compounds. Coffee is an important source of these compounds, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. The aim of this study was to visualize the proteomic profile of SW480 human colorectal adenocarcinoma cells treated with green and roasted coffee extracts, compared to untreated cells. Image analysis showed that when cells were treated with coffee extracts there were noticeable changes in protein expression, especially in those treated with green coffee. These preliminary results could help shed some light on the biological mechanism that coffee induces in colorectal cancer cells.
