Artificial Intelligence and Smart Railway Transport as a Tool to Accelerate the Transformation Process in Uzbekistan

  • Zumrat Gaibnazarova

摘要

Worldwide the transport sector faces several issues related to the rising of traffic demand such as congestion, energy consumption, noise, pollution, safety, etc. Trying to stem the problem, the European Commission is encouraging a modal shift towards railway, considered as one of the key factors for the development of a more sustainable European transport system. This contribution proposes a synthetic methodology for the capacity and utilization analysis of complex interconnected rail networks; the procedure has a dual scope since it allows both a theoretically robust examination of suburban rail systems and a solid approach to be applied, with few additional and consistent assumptions, for feasibility or strategic analysis of wide networks (by efficiently exploiting the use of Big Data and/or available Open Databases). Artificial intelligence and cloud are leading to the digitalization of logistics and transport sectors and the development of smart railway terminals. Smart railways are made possible with next-generation technologies that bring new levels of safety, connectivity, and sustainability. The chapter scientifically founded ways to reduce costs based on the “wireless electro pneumatic brake” that is, energy–efficient innovative technology that reduces the main energy raw materials in the railway transport of Uzbekistan. Ways to reduce and increase energy efficiency on the basis of digital information and communication technologies are shown. Since currently very much attention is paid to environmentally friendly technologies, this type of technology is very environmentally friendly and safer than the current type of brakes. While this type of brakes can qualify for international standards. If their implementation takes several months, the benefit of their implementation can benefit from the year to the railway industry. On the basis of wireless electro-pneumatic brakes, an intra–train information and diagnostic system of a freight train is being implemented, which allows for continuous control and predictive monitoring of all critical and running parts of cars (“intelligent” freight train).
