Assessment of the Effect of Road Infrastructure on Traffic Accidents Based on the Fuzzy Linear Regression Method

This study deals with the impact of transport infrastructure facilities on traffic accidents. The article presents an algorithm for assessing the impact of the location of transport infrastructure on road accidents occurrence and a universal method based on the algorithm. The method includes a detailed description of the steps made in the Python programming language code. The method was tested in the Vasileostrovsky district of St. Petersburg. As a result, the authors determined the probabilities of road accidents and developed the map with marks of all accidents for the given period, the map with marks of cluster centers with the largest number of road accidents, the map with marks of the influence of the location of certain transport infrastructure objects on road traffic accidents and the histogram for general visualization of the results obtained. The table with traffic density on each street in the area for additional assessment of the impact of transport infrastructure on road accidents occurrence at different traffic densities was compiled.
