摘要

This chapter discusses two main design strategies used for truss topology optimization: the two-stage approach and the single-stage approach. The problem formulations are details for (1) size optimization, (2) topology and size optimization, and (3) topology, shape, and size optimization, considering static and dynamic constraints and continuous and discrete element cross sections with multiple load conditions. The finite element method is highlighted as the most commonly used computational technique for truss analysis. The ground structure approach is also introduced as a widely used method for truss topology optimization problems. The proposed methodology is outlined in detail, including the modification of benchmark trusses and the analysis of feasible and infeasible solutions. Various complexity-measuring parameters are presented to provide a comprehensive understanding of the proposed problems. This chapter provides valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in the field of truss optimization.
