The Toyon Hall Experiment
摘要
After WWII, the expansion of psychology led to the constitution of rivaling sub-disciplines, among which young researchers had to choose wisely because their whole career could depend on this choice. Zimbardo bet on social psychology and cognitive dissonance. Prior to the Stanford Prison Experiment, some of Zimbardo’s students conducted a prison experiment in their dormitory, which would become the blueprint of the Stanford Prison Experiment. Yet this student experiment has been consistently hidden by Zimbardo for 50 years.
