Patient Motivation for Long-Term Compliance for Complex Treatments

  • Stefan Abela

摘要

Patient compliance is one of the main risk factors with clear aligner therapy. The demand on compliance necessitates daily wear by the patient of at least 21–22 h. Lack of compliance could ultimately lead to failure of reaching the intended outcomes and treatment failure. Clear aligners will always be heavily reliant on the user following the instructions with regard to the amount of wear and changing the trays sequentially. This chapter aims at giving an insight into improving patient compliance and identifying factors that could be valued as a risk factor with a decreased amount of compliance.
