Clinical Management of Surgical Cases

  • Stefan Abela

摘要

In a conventional orthognathic pathway involving fixed appliance therapy, the three stages of orthodontic treatment would include pre-surgical, surgical and post-surgical. The latter three phases are followed by the retention phase. In cases needing orthognathic surgery with clear aligners being the preferred treatment modality, no significant differences exist between this approach and more classical ones. In fact, both of the approaches would be very similar. This chapter will provide an insight into the aspects of treating surgical cases involving orthognathic surgery with clear aligners. It also provides a detailed description of how the treatment could differ for the clinician and for the patients.
