Valve Dynamic Investigations and Measurements

The former chapters described the main aim of this thesis, the theoretical background of the methods used to perform the necessary analyses and the measurement methods, and contextualized these to the current state of the art. The current chapter shows the new investigations of the valve train dynamic and the valve dynamic in particular. The analyses are simulation based. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the simulation model shows a good accordance with the real valve dynamic. The validation of the simulation model is therefore based on measurements on the valve train. These measurements and their evaluation are shown in the first part of the chapter.
