摘要
Moraceae is a large family with 60 genera and approximately 1400 species (Kitamura and Murata 1980). Out of these 60 genera, Morus is a small genus under order Utricales with 19 species which is mostly recognized for its leaves and quality berry fruits in almost all the traditional classification systems (Sanchez 2000). The genus Morus was established by Linnaeus (1753), in which all wild and cultivated mulberry species were included. Economically important species of Morus are Morus alba (white mulberry), Morus nigra (black mulberry), Morus rubra (red mulberry), and Morus indica (Indian mulberry) (Luchai et al. 2013).
