Numerical Modelling of River Ice Processes (Model Description)
摘要
River ice modelling is an indispensable tool for ice-jam flood forecasting. Potential ice-jam flood backwater levels can be predicted with such models if values for the models’ boundary conditions can be projected into the future. This applies to both operational flood forecasting and making predictions about ice-jam flood behaviour in a changed climate in the future. A river ice model constitutes the core of the stochastic modelling framework used for ice-jam flood forecasting described in Chap. 8 .
