Ice-Jam Flood-Hazard Assessment of Ungauged River Reaches

Regionalisation is a term most often associated with hydrological modelling, in which parameters calibrated from a gauged basin are transferred to the modelling of neighbouring and/or similar basins that are ungauged, in order to estimate the hydrological characteristics and behaviour of such basins (spatial regionalisation). (Linear) regionalisation is rarely mentioned in a purely river hydraulics context since the hydraulic characteristics of an ungauged river stretch can be determined by extending a river hydraulic model of a gauged stretch, using discharge, water level and flood extent data acquired along its stretch, to the ungauged portion of the river environment.
