A Portal for the Advancement of Open Science in the Humanities
摘要
In this chapter, we introduce the “Multimodal/multilingual portal for the advancement of open science in the Humanities” (Portal multimodal/multilíngue para o avanço da ciência aberta nas Humanidades), currently underway at the Graduate Program in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies (LAEL), and its associated laboratories, the Integrated Laboratory for Acoustic Analysis of Cognition (LIAAC-LAEL-PUCSP), and the Center for Research, Resources and Information (CEPRIL), at the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Portal mission includes both fostering open science practices in the Humanities and providing a repository for open science research. To fulfill its mission, the Portal is home to ongoing open science projects that includes large-scale corpus-based projects, text mining, acoustic science, French discourse analysis, and Bakhtin-circle studies. In this chapter, we will showcase four research projects that illustrate the commitment of the team to open science. In addition to these research projects, we will present features of the Portal design that foster open science among humanists, such as making freely available datasets, corpora, and tools.
