Software Solution to Automatize Evaluation and Accreditation Process in Higher Education

How to measure the quality of education is one of the challenges when trying to provide competitive teaching and learning service. Educational institutions, evaluation and accreditation agencies, and experts in different professional fields are involved in this process. The widespread approach is for the providers of educational services to try to improve their performance by keeping the recommendations of the formalized group of standards, known as Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area. Because of the complexity of the activities done and resources processed, there is an obvious need for automated assistance during the accreditation is provided. The focus of this work is the workflow of the accreditation procedures and the implementation of a software solution that utilizes this process. Detailed descriptions of the key components, such as criteria systems which include qualitative and quantitative indicators and automated raw data normalization and calibration are part of the research. The architecture of a software prototype used to maintain the accreditation procedure is discussed.
