III. (Post-)Anthropocentric Relationalism

Rosa makes a persuasive case for a relational—if not, relationalist—understanding of social reality. Having said that, his theoretical framework contains a residual degree of anthropocentrism. To do justice to the agential multiplicity that permeates reality, it is imperative to replace a ‘sociology of our relationship to the world’ with ‘sociologies of multiple relationships to multiple worlds’. Arguably, such a post-anthropocentric (and, by implication, polycentric, if not centreless) approach is committed to exploring a wide range of multi-agential Weltbeziehungen and Weltbezüge.
