Conclusion

This chapter concludes the study by providing a summary of the historical account. It restates the major developments in the three periods of time, delineated by the different political settings, shifting national borders and frontiers, and questions pertaining to the recognition of the Macedonian state and nation. Despite clear political divisions, the study has shown that the flow of ideas, research topics, and methodologies in the context of Macedonia was porous, oftentimes transcending the ideological regime changes. The chapter ends with a very brief overview of the future of Macedonian sociology.
