Gamification in Recommendation Systems a Systematic Analysis
摘要
Recommendation systems are one area where gamification has gained popularity. Gamification is a method for incorporating game design aspects into non-game environments to engage users and drive them to complete desired tasks. The systematic literature review on gamification in recommendation systems is presented in this research. The review offers insights into the most recent gamification methods, the underlying mechanisms, and how gamification affects user engagement and the success of recommendations. The review uses a methodical approach of looking for and choosing pertinent documents. The analysis covers 16 papers that were published between 2013 and 2023. According to the report, data collecting, user modeling, suggestion generation, and evaluation are just a few of the steps of recommendation systems where gamification has been used. Gamified recommendation systems incorporate game components like points, badges, leaderboards, challenges, and awards to entice and engage users. The research also demonstrates how gamification can boost recommendations’ efficacy and promote user engagement. Gamification can increase user motivation, encourage exploration and learning, and provide immediate feedback to users. When they are gamified, the success of suggestions depends on the kind of recommendation task, the user type, and the context. Gamification is more effective for challenging and exploratory recommendation jobs and for users with little motivation or expertise. However, the review also highlights several problems and limitations with gamified recommendation systems. The review concluded that gamification had become a potential method for boosting user engagement and the potency of recommendations. Additional study is necessary to solve the difficulties and restrictions in gamified recommendation systems and create efficient and flexible gamification solutions.
