The Issue of Cybersex Addiction among Children in Peninsular Malaysia: The Process of Development and Validation of Instrument

摘要

The era of globalisation and modernisation has led to the widespread use of technological devices by every generation, including children. Undeniably, that this era provides numerous benefits, such as having information at one’s fingertips, being able to access information from any location by using the Internet and many others. However, if children excessively use the Internet, especially when surfing indecent materials, it can cause them to become addicted to cybersex. Due to this situation, it is crucial for this study to develop and validate research instruments related to the issue of cybersex addiction involving children to address this problem effectively and efficiently. The validation process involved three phases, which are (Abd Halim, Penghayatan Agama Islam Sebagai Mediator dalam Hubungan antara Persekitaran Sosial dengan Salah Laku Seksual Pelajar Islam, 2017) content validity, () predictive validity and () construct validity. Hence, this instrument also can contribute to future research towards children in upholding their rights and protecting them.
